Yes, that thing in the shadows was undeniably Metal Sonic; its eyes glowed red, even though the colors were reversed from the original design. What do you think?

Super Show”, “Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3″, “Super Mario World”, and “Captain N the Game Master”.And the reason why Robotnik sounds different is because he is voiced by a different actor (Jim Cummings).Sonic was voiced by Jaleel White (Steve Urkle) in the DiC Sonic cartoons.

The animes came out later. I don’t think they’re related.

[..YouTube..] Dr. Robotnik’s (Eggman) voice is so creepy. It’s awesome. I did like this show when I was a kid. I like the slightly dystopian vibe with the characters fighting real opposition. Unlike the other sonic show of the same era that was just full of corny, old cartoon jokes and cliches.
