Don’t Look Back Walkthrough

This is a video of me, Tasselfoot, beating the minimalist pixel art platformer Don’t Look Back. A few tricky spots, but all in all not bad. Game: http://www.kongregate.com/games/TerryCavanagh/dont-look-back/?referrer=Tasselfoot

  11. 11 Nicolasduca

[..YouTube..] plz accept my video response.

[..YouTube..] She was indeed his wife, and she wasn’t picking flowers, she was escaping from Aristaeus. Orpheus played such sad songs in despair that the nimphs were moved and suggested he went to the underworld to get her back… Everything else you said is correct :D

  13. 13 toogiemks4

[..YouTube..] Orpheous never had a wife..he was engaged. His bride was picking flowers, and a snake came from the grass and bit her, which killed her. Orpheus played his harp and it distracted everyone in the underworld, except hades..Hades told Orpheus to leave and when he is gone from hades realm, his wife well return to him, unless he turns back. He gets to the exit, and he looks back, and he sees a bit of her, and she dissapears.

  14. 14 supersummer17

[..YouTube..] What sound does it make?

  15. 15 supersummer17

[..YouTube..] What happens when you look back? what just happened at the end? Why did they disappear? Please!

  16. 16 Idene90

[..YouTube..] It was Hermes that was with his wife when Orpheus was on the way back up, right? If i remember correctly, when Orpheus turned around, Hermes took his wife away immediately. Also, if i remember correctly, when he was alone, and his wife was gone, he was playing his harp in the forest, and the nymphs tore him apart.

[..YouTube..] Music awesome!!..if anyone can tell me the name of the music or at least the name of some similar?… Excelent Game, i played a while ago and is very good ..

  18. 18 MCRisforlife96

[..YouTube..] by the wya, if my memory serves, Orpheus’s wife was called Eurydice

  19. 19 TheDominoDecree

[..YouTube..] you can´t go to the right without looking back so you can´t go there.

  20. 20 Kino4500

[..YouTube..] This game is like the myth of Orpheus… But Orpheus didn’t have a gun… LOLOrpheus had a wife but she died so he went into the underworld and used his harp to sooth teh feelings of Hades. Even Hades’ wife was appealed and so Orpheus took his wife but as he “LOOKED BACK” Orpheus’ wife was gone! (Orpheus is also in a game called persona 3)

  21. 21 fermar92

    [..YouTube..] awesome game

  22. 22 Eyedunno

[..YouTube..] I wouldn’t call it “pixel art” though. It’s more of a retro look, almost like CGA games (but with a different palette that could nonetheless easily be replaced with CGA’s). Now I wanna see a full DOS version of this game, complete with support for CGA and crappy PC speakers. :P

  23. 23 SockHeadx4

[..YouTube..] Music was awesome, plus the ending was totally unexpected. Great game overall.

  24. 24 Fettfan996

[..YouTube..] This game was awsome!! The only things I were disappointed in were the dumbass comments. “This waste uv tyme uhhh dis game sux cant beet it” And just for the record, I won without the walkthrough. ;)

  25. 25 yowchong

  28. 28 bigkeen30

[..YouTube..] you r a beats at this tasselfoot. nice job.

  29. 29 pyroman148

[..YouTube..] you cant, you would go back, thus starting over.

  30. 30 Skaterinhell

[..YouTube..] Oh rite… I almost forgot. What happens if you go to the right, the part that’s near to the end of the game?

  31. 31 mirandarae13

    [..YouTube..] I love the ending.

  32. 32 jackhartcup

[..YouTube..] was actually really impressed with this game. i think it highlights how the platform can b used more creatively

  33. 33 tellytubbysmash

[..YouTube..] i beat it before even seeing a walkthroigh. i just waanted to see if people had any on youtube. this is awesome. and gratz for beating the game too.

  34. 34 ShadowBrand12

[..YouTube..] Lol 0:13 is where i got stuck

  35. 35 gunswordfist

[..YouTube..] Now it all makes sense. Thanks.

  36. 36 HyperWolfTiger

[..YouTube..] It was in his imaginaton this is losely the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Orpheus and Eurydice fall in love Eurydice dies and goes to the underworld Orpheus goes to hades to rescue her and the only what he can get her out when he finds her is to not look at her till they are out of hades right at the enternce he turns around to see her (I think that is when it was) and she is draged back down to hades that was a brife verson you should read the full one it’s a Greek story

  37. 37 schfiftyfivehundydoo

[..YouTube..] 3:34 is where i got stuck

  38. 38 Zizka417

[..YouTube..] 2:45 is absolutely awesome. It looks like you’re just staring Cerberus in the face as if to say, “You’re in my way, mutt.” It’s a good story. I can relate to this. However, I still am not ready to move on. I could go through hell to get them back 1,000 times if it means I have a chance to see them again. Oh well. I’m just a hopeless romantic.

  39. 39 Apotheosis275

[..YouTube..] and you find yourself… still standing there. Wanting her back. Your “journey” to bring her back was just your imagination. She is lost, but you must move on. You can’t continue looking back at the past. Don’t look back.

  40. 40 Apotheosis275

[..YouTube..] @people who don’t understand the endingCmon now. Even if you didn’t get the greek myth reference (I didn’t) you should see some meaning here. At the very beginning you see the guy standing in front of a grave. It’s raining. Depressing music is playing. Obviously the guy is sad. Then, halfway through the game he finds a spirit, and you are sent in the other direction. Now you know he made this great journey to try and ressurect his loved one. You finally get back in the beginning, and..

  41. 41 Selinja

[..YouTube..] By this, you beat the tragedy. The characters in Greek tragedies try to escape their cruel fate instead of embracing it, which is why they fail. You instead leave your inner underworld of grief and remorse, which otherwise would have trapped you forever. You weren’t able to win against death, but by accepting that, you won your life.Orpheus instead did not make it. He had forsworn the love of women after the death of Eurydice, and even his decapitated head would still sing mournful songs…

  42. 42 Selinja

[..YouTube..] However, that’s too depressing for my taste, so I prefer a semi-positive interpretation:Your voyage is an inner struggle, trying to bring back what cannot be retrieved. You win the fight and you finally *do* look back - at yourself! You realize this, your inner struggle ends, and you finally accept fate.

  43. 43 Selinja

[..YouTube..] After all, it’s based on a Greek tragedy. Greek tragedies describe a situation where you are doomed to wrongful or insufficient acts while you have no freedom to choose differently. The saga of Oedipus is probably the best-known example for this.

  44. 44 SonicRoar

[..YouTube..] It’s a good game, with a nice story

  45. 45 jjman147

[..YouTube..] the last boos is D*** random it should be set i do identical things and he reacts diff anoying much!!

  46. 46 xenariz

[..YouTube..] dog or ball beast thingie?

  47. 47 xenariz

[..YouTube..] this game is so easy, wtf was that ending though?

  48. 48 joppalowe

[..YouTube..] Something tells me you have to beat this thing no-miss to get the good ending. Good luck to anybody trying that!-J

  49. 49 NarutoMustDie12345

[..YouTube..] i cant get past the boss
